Some businesses offer Local Collect as a delivery option when you order items.
If you chose this option, we'll deliver your item to the Post Office® you select. The order confirmation from the sender will detail which location you selected.
Once we’ve left your item at the selected location, we’ll send you an SMS or email notification confirming your item is ready to collect.
You can pick up your item on a day that suits you. You can check the opening times for the location you selected on Services near you.
We’ll hold items for 18 days. If they’re not collected in that time, we’ll return them to the sender.
What ID do I need to collect my item?
To keep your item as secure as possible, we'll need to see proof of ID before handing any item over.
Please make sure you bring:
The SMS / email notification. Without this you can’t collect your item.
And one of the following in the name of the person the item is addressed to:
Credit or debit card
Bank or building society cheque/savings book
Valid passport
Driving licence
NHS medical card
Photo ID card (foreign national, military, police warrant, Royal Mail employee, NHS or senior citizen bus pass)
How to collect an item for someone else
Please bring the electronic SMS / email notification and one of the above forms of ID, in the name of the person the item is addressed to.
