Parcelforce Export Delivery Terms
Here at Parcelforce Worldwide we offer a range of Delivery Terms to help you manage your VAT obligations.
1. Import One Stop Shop (IOSS)*
There are a variety of IOSS solutions available to suit the size and nature of your business, helping you to provide a smooth customer delivery experience. You can register yourself, or there are a number of third party options available who are able to assist you.
*Please note that IOSS cannot be used in respect of goods subject to excise duties, or consignments with a value exceeding a total of €150 and when sending to certain EU Countries, typically those who have chosen not to adopt the Euro they may apply a different, local calculation that they will use for low value clearance including IOSS. It is important you check this prior to sending.
2. Delivered Taxes Paid (DTP)
If IOSS isn’t for you, our DTP service may be suitable. To cover the cost of import VAT/duties, it may be beneficial to calculate the import VAT/duties due as part of the price payable for the goods at the time of checkout. Our delivery partners will make the customs declarations in the destination country and bill the import VAT and duties to you via Parcelforce Worldwide. This option means that the recipient is the importer of record.
3. Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU)
If you’d prefer to let your recipient take control and manage all of the import formalities including duties and taxes, this option may be suitable. This allows the recipient to be the importer and account for import VAT where applicable, making this is a good solution for B2B and B2C. You should let the recipient know they will be responsible for the duties and taxes to avoid any items being returned.
4. Selling through a marketplace
If you sell through a marketplace, they are likely to have registered for IOSS. Simply provide us with their IOSS number for the items sold through that marketplace. In this scenario the marketplace is responsible for remitting any import VAT to the relevant tax authorities.Whether you book your parcels online, or pay over-the-counter at your local Post Office®, you’ll be guided through the process to ensure your items have the correct IOSS details.

IOSS Options
If you would like to use the EU’s Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) to comply with the VAT e-commerce rules, Parcelforce Worldwide can help
Third Party Arrangement
You can partner with a third party to register your business for IOSS, which will allow you to send items using your own IOSS number. This is recommended for UK sellers sending higher volumes of items and who do not wish to register and manage tax returns in-house.
For the above Delivery Terms, you may need to calculate the landed costs of your goods. It is possible to do this by using Aura from Hurricane. This service calculates import Duties and Tax chargeable at the checkout.
Customs classifications are an important part of satisfying obligations with customs authorities globally. In January 2022 there was a large overhaul of classification undertaken by the World Trade Organisation (WTO). On an annual basis, the EU and UK make updates to the tariff classifications.
It is therefore important to ensure that product classifications are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they are correct. Parcelforce Worldwide cannot be held responsible for any incorrect classifications provided which result in customs compliance issues.
